Work Around solution on Windows 2000 for problem where Vantage PCI board causes "New Hardware Found" dialog box to pop up everytime system boots up.
This assumes you have TAPI Express already installed. The procedure will show you how to uninstall the wave driver and then how to reinstall it using the "New Hardware Found" wizard while at the same time associating the wave driver with the newly found Vantage PCI device.
('location' below can also be winnt\system32, but you will need to copy OEMSETUP.INF to system32)
1. Click "cancel" on "New Hardware Found" dialog box
2. Go to My computer -> Manage -> Device Manager -> Sound, Video, Game controllers
3. Right click on "Brooktrout TAPI Express" and select "Uninstall"
note: If there's no separate Brooktrout entry right click on Legacy Audio Drivers and select Properties. In the next dialog select Properties again. Select Brooktrout TAPI Express and click Remove.
4. After finish Uninstallation, reboot your system
*** You will see New Hardware Found dialog box again when it boots up again ***
