Initiating Outbound Calls from Inbound Calls

Active Call Center includes a COM object for outbound dialing that can be manipulated with VBScript. This is the same object mentioned in the previous section. Initiating outbound calls from either an inbound call or another outbound call is as simple as scripting this COM object. For full details on scripting with the COM object, refer to the section on the Outbound Dialing COM Object.

Note: Initiating the outbound dialing COM object during inbound calls creates a second telephony application: the inbound call monitor is the first application, the outbound dialer the second. Some telephony cards do not support simultaneous access by multiple applications and therefore do not support initiation of outbound calls from inbound calls. Certain versions of the MediaPhonics PhoneRider were known to have such limitations.
