How to Perform Call Transfers / Forwarding
Active Call Center allows call transfers via one of two techniques:
- Users with a voice modem can use a hook-flash transfer if the phone system supports it. To do a hook flash transfer, set the SendModemCommands variable in a macro. For more information refer to the section about the SendModemCommands variable.
- Users with telephony cards that support TAPI transfers can set the TransferCallTo variable. For more information, refer to the section about the TransferCallTo variable. Active Call Center can use telephony cards that have advanced call transfer support (such as Brooktrout) to do extremely sophisticated announced call transfers or hunt group location. Details are provided in the section about the TransferCallTo variable.
Use of call transfer features requires a phone line, PBX, or phone system that supports call transfers. Active Call Center does not create call transfer facilities on your phone lines; it uses your telephony hardware to activate the transfer features that are already present on your phone system.
