E-Mail Preprocessing
Lucent speakers such as John-TE and Grace-TE implement e-mail preprocessing. E-mail preprocessing helps make e-mails more understandable when read.
Some features activated by selecting a voice with e-mail preprocessing include:
- Correct pronunciation of e-mail addresses, such as "info@somewhere.com".
- Acknowledgement of special character sequences, such as :) for smiley faces.
- Correct pronunciation of URL's and mixed case words: for example "WinNT".
- Signature block recognition avoids pronouncing characters that delineate the signature.
Avoid the use of e-mail processing for everyday applications unless absolutely necessary.
