Installing Microsoft Fax

Microsoft Fax ships with Microsoft Windows 98. Microsoft Fax can be used in conjunction with Active Call Center to do outbound faxing. Due to a problem with transferring fax calls from Active Call Center to Microsoft Fax, Microsoft Fax cannot be used for receiving inbound faxes while Active Call Center is running.

Windows 98 Installation Instructions

Microsoft Fax was not part of the standard Windows 98 installation, but was included on the Windows 98 CD-ROM.

Insert the Windows 98 Installation CD.

Start Windows Explorer and browse to the appropriate folder on the CD:

Tools\Oldwin95\Message\Us (for United States customers)

Tools\Oldwin95\Message\Intl (for International customers)

Locate the file called Wms-fax.txt and open it. This file contains detailed instructions about installing Microsoft Fax on Windows 98 systems.

More information about Microsoft Fax in Windows 98 can be found at Microsoft's support website at http://support.microsoft.com.
