Branch to Node Field

The "Branch to Node" field should be set to the name of the Node that will be executed if the caller's input matches the "When Response Matches" field.

Enter data into the "Branch to Node" field by either of two methods:

  1. Click the Pick button to view a list of Nodes that already exist and choose one.
  2. Type in the name of a new or existing node. The name you enter can be alphanumeric with underscores ("_") used instead of spaces.

Creating Loops by Branching to Existing Nodes

Looping in a Call Tree is accomplished by branching to Nodes that were created earlier in the tree. Branches to pre-existing Nodes will show with "...continues" placeholders after that Node is drawn in the Call Tree window - this is so the display of the tree doesn't grow infinitely large. Refer to the Visual Depiction of Nodes for an illustration of the use of "...continues" placeholders.

Creating New Nodes

New Nodes are created when responses are added with "Branch to Node" names that do not match existing Node names.

Renaming Existing Nodes

Existing Nodes can be renamed by changing the "Branch to Node" field and clicking Update.
