Responses Tab

The Responses tab on the Edit Node window is where to define all of the answers that a user might give in response to the question on the Question tab. Responses can be of a specific type of response (e.g., date, time, touch tone, spelled word, etc.) or responses can be a list of words or phrases that are matched with speech recognition.

Each defined response has two components:

  1. Branch To Node: defines which Node will be executed next if the caller's input matches "When response matches". New Nodes are created automatically as you define them.
  2. When response matches: defines the pattern that the caller's input must match to trigger this response. The match field can be a word or phrase, one of several pre-defined templates, or a specialty response template.

The Responses tab facilitates:

The top part of the Responses tab shows the components of the currently selected response, and the table at the bottom of the tab shows all the responses available for the current Node.

For an example of how responses are used, you may want to look at steps 3 and 4 of the Quick-Start Tutorial Instructions.
