How can I troubleshoot errors with Phone Calls... Monitor Phone Lines? PDF Print E-mail

After installing Active Call Center, you may find that Phone Calls... Monitor Phone Lines produces an error message like "The thread that would monitor the phone line was not created" or "Failed to allocate memory for telephony objects".

Sometimes these errors are caused by using Windows Terminal Services for remote logins.  You should always log in as an Administrator from the PC itself to make sure the problems you are seeing are not due to remote access. 

Beyond that, typically these errors are related to proper installation and configuration of your TAPI drivers.

Start with the manual's troubleshooting steps for telephony hardware problems .  The Active Call Center modem test provides a lot of information once you can understand it (which the manual shows you how to do).

If you have followed each of those steps and the modem test is able to see your device but you are still having problems, it's time to troubleshoot the specifics of your TAPI installation .
